Have you been invited? If so read on...
St John's Church, Kenilworth and the Chesford Grange Hotel
are each about half a mile from the A46/A452 junction which
is just south of Kenilworth but in opposite directions so
they are about a mile apart.
The church doesn't allow confetti. The plan is to give
people bubbles to blow instead. For those ladies who are
worried about it (esp. King's students), hats are optional.
Reception
Entry is via the hotel reception, which is at the far
end of the building from the main car park. The drinks
reception is expected to be in the Tudor Bar. The 'reception
line up' will be at around 5.45pm, just before the meal,
which is in the Avon Suite.
The evening reception is from around 8pm to 1am in three
rooms, one of which will have a disco (till 12.30am) and
a bar, one a buffet and one a quieter room.
We would prefer that there was no smoking throughout
the afternoon and evening receptions.
There will be a guest book to sign so think of something
to say in advance!
Overnight stays
The Chesford Grange Hotel (01926-859331) offers a reduced
rate of £35 per person per night in an en suite double
or twin room (£15 surcharge for a single room). You will
need to say you are a guest at the Robertson/Williams
wedding to get this reduction.
The Quality Hotel (01926-858331) is within walking distance
of the Chesford Grange. Information about other hotels/guest
houses etc in the area can be obtained from South Warwickshire
Tourist Board (01926-742767).
Lunch
If you want to have lunch in Kenilworth there are a number
of pubs plus a Sainsbury's that sells sandwiches about
250 yards past the church in the same road. (The reception
meal won't be till around 6pm).
